Accuphase A-48S Power Amplifier

The A-48S is a pure Class A stereo power amplifier that incorporates all the technology cultivated in the higher-end models, and is a model change of the A-48 released in July 2019. In order to fully utilize the capabilities of the speakers, we pursued reducing the output impedance and constant voltage drive. The power amplifier stage uses 6 parallel push-pull Class A operation with power MOSFETs, achieving linear high power output of 50W/8Ω, 100W/4Ω, 200W/2Ω, and 400W/1Ω. It uses an ``instrumentation amplifier'' composed of a balanced circuit, ``ideal gain distribution'' between the signal input section and the power amplifier section, ``MCS+'' with two parallel circuits, and a low-noise full discrete amplifier in the signal input section to maximize noise performance. In addition, the output impedance is reduced by ``balanced remote sensing'' and ``semiconductor switch'', achieving the highest damping factor of 1,000 in the series.
