ESOTERIC S-02 Power Amplifier

A quasi-flagship stereo power amplifier following the Grandioso series. Maximum amount of materials used in the power supply section. The transformer is EI type, and the large 940VA core is independent of the left and right channels from the winding. It is firmly mounted on the internal 5mm steel base. The power supply section capacitors are dual mono configuration with 4,700μF x 3 parallel for each channel. By speeding up the charging and discharging time, we pursue tight sound quality. All wiring of the power supply section is connected with bolts using extra thick cables to achieve low impedance. It has a current supply capacity of 17A for continuous operation and 34A for instantaneous operation, and uses a large bipolar LAPT (Linear Amplified Power Transistor) element that is nearly twice the size of a general power transistor, improving high power and high frequency characteristics. The power amplifier module is a three-stage Darlington configuration with 5 parallel push-pull bipolar LAPT elements. In order to bring out the high frequency characteristics of the bipolar element, a simple amplification circuit is used with as few parts and parallels as possible.
