Description

Japan boasts world-class technology and know-how in phono cartridges that pick up sound from records, and the My Sonic Lab products are considered to be the best of the best.

Yoshio Matsudaira, a legend in the phono cartridge world, has created every cartridge that can be considered a treasure.

Since his debut, Eminent, Matsudaira's motto has remained unchanged: "Low internal impedance, high output energy!" The top-of-the-line Signature Platinum has been highly praised both at home and abroad as the ultimate achievement of My Sonic, and now a cartridge that can be called a special model has been released.

Signature Diamond uses solid diamond for the cantilever material.

Many people will remember that recently, a number of cartridge manufacturers have come forward to use diamond cantilevers.

Audio-technica and DS Audio released models with seamless integrated diamond cantilevers all the way to the stylus tip early on, followed by Phasemation, Ortofon, Analog Relax, IKEDA, and TechDAS, which are now a big trend.

The background to this is technological innovation by cantilever manufacturers.
Matsudaira had previously attempted diamond cantilevers while at ENTRE, but the manufacturing technology for the material was still immature, and there were reliability issues such as breakage and the stylus tip coming off, so he did not have a very good impression of them.
Because of this, even when a new material manufacturer proposed diamond cantilevers this time, he had no intention of adopting them right away.
However, after making a prototype and examining its reliability, he found that it was fully usable, and he made further improvements to the shape, structure, and adhesive for the stylus tip to create a cantilever that he was satisfied with.
The shape was to carve out the center of the diamond to create a hollow structure, and to make the entire cantilever tapered. In other words, this is the first time that a tapered pipe structure with a narrow tip has been realized using diamond material.
