Non-compatible product numbers cannot be installed. Of course, products from other companies are not allowed. Even if it could be installed, the connection with the octave key would not work properly, causing problems in playing.
Yamaha products have minor specification changes compared to past models, so compatibility may not be determined just by having the same model number.
Even if the model is compatible, if it cannot be installed smoothly due to individual differences or changes in condition due to use of the main unit, a technician will need to make adjustments.

▼About finishing
Differences in paint will result in differences in tone and playing feel. Yamaha's regular lineup of saxophone bodies are finished with gold lacquer or silver plating. Therefore, the included neck is either gold lacquered or silver plated. (As of April 2023)
Clear lacquer: A transparent lacquer that is powerful, has good sound clarity, and tends to produce a glossy tone.
Gold lacquer: A dark gold color made by mixing clear lacquer with gold paint. The sound tends to be sharp and have a good rise.
Black lacquer: Bright, sharp tone and tends to have a wide dynamic range, so recommended for those looking for a powerful sound. The octave keys are finished with gold lacquer.
Unlacquered: A state in which no paint is applied to the material. It is characterized by the fact that the vibrations during performance are easily transmitted to the player, and the sound is good. The appearance will also change over time.
Silver plating: Features a dark and soft tone. It has a sense of resistance, so it is also recommended for performances that seek expressiveness.
Gold plating: tends to have stronger resistance than silver plating. Recommended for those seeking more expressive power. It is characterized by a powerful tone with a strong core and a deep resonance.
▼About the material
Depending on the paint applied to the material, even though they may appear to be the same color, they may actually be made of different materials.
Yellow brass: 70% copper, 30% zinc. A material often used for saxophone bodies and brass instruments. It is characterized by a bright and brilliant tone.
Sterling silver: 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper. It features a wide dynamic range, powerful volume, and dark tone.
